Namsai, 18 December 2025: Arunachal Pradesh signaled its growing stature on India’s motorsport map on Wednesday as the 10th edition of the JK Tyre Orange 4×4 Fury was ceremonially flagged off at the Golden Pagoda Complex in Namsai, ushering in three days of intense off-road competition across the demanding terrain of the Lower Dibang Valley. One of the country’s longest-running and most recognised 4×4 motorsport events, the JK Tyre Orange 4×4 Fury 2025 brings together India’s leading off-road competitors alongside international entries, reinforcing the North-East’s emergence as a serious motorsport destination. Seasoned offroaders like Chetan Chengappa, who made a surprise visit to Robusta Rally in Kodagu recently, has dominated events like Orange 4×4 and many others including Team MOCCA (Arunachal Pradesh) and Gerrari Off-roaders like Kabir Waraich and his sptter Gurmeet Singh, have all excelled here, with Chengappa crowned champ earlier.

The event was officially flagged off by Abu Tayeng, IAS, Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, in the presence of organisers, competitors and local officials. With its tenth running, the Orange 4×4 Fury marks a significant milestone in Indian off-road motorsport, having evolved from a niche challenge into a nationally followed competition that tests machine durability, driver skill and team coordination in equal measure.

Organised by JK Tyre in partnership with Adventure X–Fusion Tribe and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, the 2025 edition features competitors across the Pro Mod Xtreme and Stock categories. The grid includes experienced Indian teams and international participants from Thailand, Malaysia and Romania, competing in highly specialised 4×4 vehicles built to tackle extreme conditions. From purpose-built Pro Mod machines to production-based Stock vehicles with controlled upgrades, the field reflects the technical depth and competitive maturity the event has acquired over the years.

Over a decade, JK Tyre’s sustained involvement in the North-East has played a central role in developing off-road motorsport in the region. The Orange 4×4 Fury has been instrumental in positioning Dambuk as an adventure-sport hub, with the event helping nurture local talent, encourage vehicle engineering innovation and drive motorsport-led tourism. A growing number of competitors now design and prepare their own vehicles, highlighting the grassroots technical culture emerging around the sport, including local participation from Namsai and neighbouring districts.

The Fury also forms a key sporting pillar of the Orange Festival of Adventure and Music (OFAM), which has helped place Dambuk firmly on the national tourism and events calendar. While the festival blends music and cultural programming, the 4×4 Fury remains its competitive core, drawing motorsport followers, teams and media attention to the region each year.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Sharma, popular as Hardy, Head – Corporate Communication and Motorsport, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd., said the event had grown into a benchmark for off-road competition in India. He noted that the terrain around Dambuk demands far more than outright speed, placing emphasis on strategy, vehicle setup, navigation and endurance, while also offering a proving ground for drivers and teams aiming to compete at the highest level of Indian off-road motorsport.

For the local organising community, the event carries a deeper sporting significance. Former rally driver and long-time motorsport enthusiast Lhakpa Tsering, President of Adventure X-Fusion Tribe, said the Orange 4×4 Fury had become a defining motorsport identity for Arunachal Pradesh. He said the event reflects the state’s natural suitability for off-road competition and the growing passion among local youth for motorsport, engineering and adventure sports.

On the competitive front, teams will face four challenging stages spread across riverbeds, forest trails, slush sections and gravel paths, with constantly changing surfaces adding to the difficulty. Stage 1 runs through Kherem, Alubari, Bhekuliang and Haju Bridge before returning to Alubari. Stage 2 links Alubari with Haju Bridge and Balijan, followed by Stage 3 in the rugged Bomjir sector. The final leg, Stage 4, passes through Sisiri to Siluk and Dambuk, bringing the event to its conclusion.

With experienced campaigners, international participation and a demanding route, the 2025 JK Tyre Orange 4×4 Fury is set to deliver high-quality competitive action, underlining Arunachal Pradesh’s growing relevance in India’s motorsport landscape and celebrating a decade of off-road racing at its toughest.
