Kolkata, 9 November 2025: Raunak Jana emerged as the fastest driver of the day at the Bengal Moto Fest 2025, which hosted the East Zone Qualifier of the fmsci Indian National Autocross Championship (INAC) at the Jyotirmoy Knowledge Campus, Sonarpur, Kolkata, on November 8 and 9. Organised by the Motor Sports Association of Eastern India under the aegis of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the event drew a strong grid of 204 entries across the national and open categories.

Organised by the Motor Sports Association of Eastern India (MSAEI) under the aegis of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the meet marked the fifth consecutive year of the championship in West Bengal. Supported by VMMotorsports Foundation and JK Tyre, the event attracted 204 entries across national and open categories, including three women competitors, making it one of the largest grids in the region.

Local favourite Raunak Jana dominated the weekend, producing the fastest overall time of 1 minute 59.531 seconds in the INAC 2 – Class E (Up to 2000cc) category. He also topped four national classes — INAC 1 Class B (Unrestricted Open), INAC 2 Class D (Up to 1650cc), INAC 2 Class E (Up to 2000cc) and INAC 2 Class F (Open) — establishing his supremacy among the East Zone’s top autocross drivers.

Strong performances came from Nilanjan Banerjee, Babit Lyngdoh from Shillong, Karan Chaudhury, Uday Ganguli, Areeb Rahman, Saujatya Kole, and Srijita Shome, all of whom claimed podium finishes in their respective categories.

“The aim of the Bengal Moto Fest is to encourage youth to move from reckless road racing to regulated, competitive motorsports where safety is paramount,” said Saurav Chatterjee, key organiser of the event. “The INAC provides a clear platform for identifying young talent across the country, and Bengal’s continued participation strengthens that ecosystem.”

In the non-championship open event, Nilanjan Banerjee, Karan Chaudhury, and Areeb Rahman recorded steady results in the 1400cc, 1650cc, and Open classes respectively, while Srijita Shome topped the Ladies Open category. The Novice Open was won by Anish Das, followed by Sudeep Bhattacherjee and Gourov Mullick.

The Bengal Moto Fest concluded successfully, marking an impressive and competitive start to the East Zone rounds of the Indian National Autocross Championship 2025.
